I forgot to mention my adventures with metro on monday.

I waited for 4 cars to pass until I could get
one that wasn't overpacked. I even got a seat, to my delight. But the train
wasn't moving. And then a few minutes later, we're told the train is out of
service. Five trains later, I finally catch one and make it to work.

Then in the afternoon I get the news that 2 stations at the end of my line
had lost power and they were worried the other stations would start to lose
power too. So I left early to get to my station before it lost power. While
waiting, I learned that the signaling system for ALL the lines had shut
down. So conductors had to call in their locations at each stop to get
permission from a controller to move forward. It was a very slow process.

Today it was discovered that the tracks on the red line had started to
crack. (Thankfully not my line.) Upon further investigation, it was
discovered that this line is in such disrepair that they are going to have
to work on the line at all hours except rush hour. Otherwise the entire line
will fall apart. Oh, and the orange (my line) and green lines are in bad
shape too, so they may have to start emergency repairs on those lines soon
too.
