Book - The Amber Spyglass

This was the last volume of the His Dark Materials trilogy. I thought it was very good, overall. The first book was a bit too simplistic, in my opinion, but the other two found their footing very easily and told a good story. If you look at it stylistically, the story feels like it grows up and matures, just like the characters in the trilogy.

My train broke down this morning. It had been extremely packed, so it was a long wait for a new one that I could squeeze onto.

Once I did get on a new train, we were stuck in a tunnel for a good 20 minutes because ANOTHER train in front of us had broken down.

Two broken trains was not a good way to start the day. I got to work very late. Luckily my morning meeting was canceled, so I was able to catch up on stuff I had left for this morning.

I hope my trip home this afternoon is less broken.

My office is collecting hair to help soak up the oil spill. Ben cut his hair last night. This is a convenient coincidence.

[EDIT] A coworker is so inspired, she's shaving her head!
