I gave in and bought the big aerogarden. It arrived last week and I immediately planted the pack of herbs that came with it.

Herbs Day 1
Left to right in the back row: Mint, Italian Basil, Dill, Thyme
Left of right in the front row: Parsley, Purple Basil, Chives

After about a week I have....not much.

Herbs Day 6

Both the basils sprouted a little bit. The thyme too. The chives look like they are just about ready the sprout. The rest of the pods are looking pretty quiet. I hope they're not duds.

Lettuce, on the other hand, is doing fantastically well.

Lettuce Day 14

Look at that! It's almost big enough to eat! In fact, if I liked baby greens, I could be eating them now. I bet by next week they will be ready. And they will be delicious. :)

Yay aerogardens! Good luck!

I did the herb one first, and all I really got from it was a crapload of basil. More basil than I could keep up with. Most of it is in my freezer. The other herbs didn't really amount to much.

I just put in my 2nd kit this weekend, cherry tomatoes. I'm also learning to make my own mozzarella, so eventually I'll have home grown caprese salad.

I heard that the herb kits are pretty dumpy aside from the basil. But it came with the kit so I figured I'd give it a try.

Yay tomatoes! I specifically bought the big one because I want to grow tomatoes one day. After all my herbs are dead, I guess. (Which may be pretty soon, based on reviews.) Good luck on yours!
