Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to suggest music appropriate for a cruise. (Which is in 10 days! EEEEEE!)

I'm thinking piratical sea chanties, but tropical stuff is ok too. No Jimmy Buffet.

Note to self:
- Rogue's Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys
- Alestorm
- Captain Bogg and Salty
This may not be the best music video to play at the end of Shugo Chara....

Can you spot why? :P

After all the wedding bills are paid off, I am buying myself this.
So the song I sent to the photographer was too short. And the second song I sent combined with the first song is too short. Turns out they want 6-7 minutes long. (But of course didn't tell me until I had all this trouble finding songs!)

Can anyone suggest a song of any length that has the same musical feel as:
- The Happy Song by Sunspot
- Truck by The Octopus Project
Our photographer asked us to let him know what song we want for a little engagement video he's making for us out of our photos.

Suggestions?

Ben wants something instrumental and I want something that sounds happy.
8 Hanukkah songs have been achieved! Go me!

My plan is to send one song each night to my dad.

In order:
1 Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah
2 Latke Clan
3 I saw Hanukkah Harry Beat up Santa
4 I have a little Dreidel
5 T'was the Night Before Hanukkah
6 Feast of Lights
7 Hanukkah Blessings
8 Hanukkah Song
I am short 3 songs for a Hanukkah album for my dad. Does anyone have Hanukkah songs they could share with me?

Songs so far:
- I have a Little Dreidel
- Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah
- I saw Hanukkah Harry Beat Up Santa
- T'was the Night Before Hanukkah
- Feast of Lights
MAGIC!!!!

If I hold my mouse over an mp3 for a couple seconds, it starts to play! This is going to make looking for songs so much easier!
I left work early because the glass people missed the appointment and ben needed to go to work. But as I was on the bus home, they showed up! So I went home for nothing. Oh well, glad it was taken care of at least.

In other news, I have identified 33 songs suitable for a space wedding. (Well, 31 plus a large suite with several movements and a radio show.) I am not sure what to do with the radio show, actually. I just think it's neat.
The List So Far )
Please list as many science/sci-fi/space songs as you can think of. (With artists, if possible, so I can look them up.)
I hate the holidays. To cope, I listen to many anti-christmas songs. I'm getting bored of what I have though. Anyone have suggestions for me to try?

Examples:
- Do you fear what I fear?
- Elf's Lament
- Grandpa's Last Christmas
- It's beginning to look a lot like fish men
- Merry Christmas, Screw You
I think if I ever invest in stocks, I will put all my money on hearing aid companies.

Today on the train I could clearly hear at least 3 different mp3 players. Had they not all been playing at once, I would have had no problem making out the lyrics of the songs.

Why do people so willingly damage their ears like that? It makes me sad.

Victory!

Ben has given me permission to use his wiki to write down all my disney vacation stuff. It will be a good place to record things that I think are cool, but would just spam my friends list.

It's also good because it will give me a lot of practice with wiki. This morning I've been playing with all sorts of stuff. I even made a table. I feel accomplished.

Oh, and I found plenty of disney music to entertain me. Yarrr! Yay!
Curse you disney for being so pro-drm!

I want disney music! I want to BUY disney music! But I want it as mp3s since I have enough cds cluttering my life. But does disney want to sell me music? Only if they can lock it down tight and keep me from actually using it! Grrr!

Clearly this means they want people to steal their music.

Today

Today was my grandpa's burial. Of course, I cried during the ceremony. That stupid church music gets me every time. Ben got included as a pallbearer, which was good because he evened out the number of grandchildren. (He made 6 of us, 3 on each side.)

Afterwards we went to eat. There was too much food. I thought I would explode. I couldn't do anything after lunch. Ben drove me back to my parents house so I could sleep it off.

I felt better after a nap, so we went to see Stardust. It is not the book but I still enjoyed it. I was terrified that I'd hate the pirates (because they are merely a blip in the book but a whole segment in the movie) but it turns out the pirates are faaabulous. I also enjoyed the dead princes. I was bit disappointed by the star, who I felt had a stronger personality in the book. In the movie she was mostly just "generic love interest" that can sparkle. However, the actor who plays tristan does a wonderful job. I'm glad they decided not to go with a big name for him.

Now I am home and sleepy, but I cannot sleep. That is because my wisdom tooth has decided to grow a little and is filling me with madness. I have a headache that makes it hard to think. It makes me cranky.
I have returned from the red elvises show.

Several things:
1. When I'm tired, I can be twice as boring as normal.
2. Ear plugs are wonderful.
3. The older I get, the less I can handle other people touching me.
4. Tulane people are everywhere.
5. I want a car with magical gps.

So to test the waters last night I told my mom I wasn't going to have
a dj at my wedding. She insists I am. I am really not looking forward
to planning this thing if she's going to argue with me over something
little and stupid like that.

I thought maybe she was confused and thought I'd have no music at all,
so I explained my idea of downloading/ripping songs to my computer,
building some playlists, and getting a good set of speakers. I could
even include a request on the RSVPs for songs the guests want to hear.

But NO. She says I HAVE to have a dj. Because, you know, any deviation
from tradition will cause the ground to open up and swallow the entire
wedding party whole. She needs to realize it's not her wedding. THIS
is why I'm paying for the whole thing.

I have a well-nurtured grudge against djs. They never play anything I
request. Not even at my own parties! I'm not going to have one make me
miserable at my wedding.
