Yes, I agree you don't need to go to the extreme, just protect yourself.

Still, even though I understand this is more about control than financial fraud, I'm shocked (SHOCKED!!) by this behavior!

I know you will work it out. It just sucks, that's all. Parents are supposed to act like the adults, right? ;-P
