We lost power to our apartment yesterday.
I came home to at least 3 electrical trucks and numerous electricians trying to fix the problem. They said it would be at least another hour before they could get the lights back on. I found this all very funny because I had come home early to bake cookies. So much for that plan.
I gave ben a call to let him know that I'd like to go out to eat tonight. Then I started lighting candles.
One for me so I could see.
One for my bird because she was hissing at every noise in the darkness.
And one for my dog who stared at the flame as if it was the very light of god.
We sat there together like that for a bit, totally bored. I got so bored, I was telling them about my day. At least my dog was polite enough to pretend to listen.
Then I did a most horrible thing. I left the apartment. Ben was taking me out for dinner. Which meant I had to blow out all the candles. Noname got so scared, she raced out the door. I had to chase her and throw her back inside. Poor baby, alone in the dark while ben and I had a lovely well-lit dinner.
When we got back (after also playing dj hero at best buy), the lights were finally back on. All my pets were still alive and happy to see me.
But my computer is messed up. The screen is all shaky and fuzzy. I'm blaming the power outage on this somehow.
