Could it be? Does lj live again?
*hugs lj* I missed you so much!!! You never know how addicted you are to something until it's taken away from you. I kept going to update today, and was forcibly reminded that I couldn't. *sniffle*

Anyway, I did stuff today. And yesterday. Yes.

Last night i was watching the Utena movie. Marynn (You know, one day I should find out how to spell her name.) came over and caught the movie half way. After it was over, she wanted to watch it again with jenn to catch the beginning that they missed. Didn't go to bed as early as I wanted to because of that. But it was no big problem.

Woke up this morning. Decided bladders were natures way of getting you to start your day. Cause once you've gotten up to go to the bathroom, you might as well get dressed and go to classes.

In medieval history a group of guys made a poster for class.
"Medieval History: Resisantance is Feudal"

It amused me way more than it should ahve. In fact, it was the most amusing part of the entire class to date. Pretty sad... ^^;;;

I'm beginning to like media. Mostly cause we're getting to the stuff I care about. So it's gotten much more interesting. However, today she told us we were having a take home midterm. So now I have 2 essays due monday, 3 essays due tuesday, and 1 essay due thursday. Also want to go to a parade tomorrow. Shopping saturday. Lots of work sunday. Anime monday. I'm going to be a very busy girl. Must get myself motivated.....

So after media was japanese. We learned some stuff. I can't remember what the stuff was, but I guess that just means it wasn't reall all that important.

Today was also my meeting with my esl partner. I brought her cookies. She brought me chocolate. Very cool. Oh, and she brought her assignment from class. She had to ask someone what Mardi Gras is like. I tried to explain taht, sure there was a lot of drunkenness and the occational woman without a shirt, but it was also lots of fun. I told her about the parades and getting beads and parties and good stuff like that. She took notes. It was cute. But then she had to leave early. Her husband wasn't feeling well.

I then went home and did quite a bit of studying. Go me!

After that, it was time for musical class. We saw The Gang's All Here. I'm not quite sure what the title had to do with anything in the film.

Carmen Miranda was in the film. One of my readings says that she's just a pile of sterotypes. I really don't think that's true. When the reading says that her funny way of talking portrays her as a child, I have to disagree. I think it's great that she can talk in a foreign language without being afraid to mess up. And she is portrayed as not worrying about messing up. Wish I could do that in japanese.

And went they complain that her clothes reinforces sterotypes of fruity brazil, I have to disagree again. I think her style is great! You've got to be BRAVE to wear that! Especially the hats. It's her style. I like it.

As for the movie itself, it was on crack. Really. There were monkeys. And chorus girls dancing around with giant banana's and strawberries. We learned that dancing=sex in musicals, so you can guess what the fruit symbolized.

The last number was the freakiest. It had small children. With deep voices. And there were floating heads. Fat men singing. Fat floating head. *twitch*

Afterwards, I felt like I can been forced through a bad drug trip. It was a really strange movie...
So can anyway explain to me in simple, nontechnical terms what was wrong with lj? I'm curious, but I don't understand the reason they gave. An attack? Huh? Wha?

It's somehow a let-down when you list your symptoms -- the sudden crippling muscle pains, the chills, the unexpected projectile vomiting -- and vaguely expect the doctor to look impressed, and say something about naming the disease after you and getting a Nobel Prize, and instead being told that yes, it's 'flu. I mean, I can't even type right now (it hurts too much -- but I figure one blogger post is easier than replying to emails), and it's... 'flu.
