holytoastr: (sewing)
Sewing today has not gone well. Not at all.

First, I discovered that there is a big faded line right along the fold of my dice fabric. Two of my pieces had to be recut, to avoid the fade. However, on piece is so big that I had to include the faded stripe anyway. I tried to minimize the damage the best I could. Grrr...

Then, I had to refill the bobbin, which is ordinarily a simple everyday task. Howver, this time, it refused to fill properly. It kept winding loose. I ended up wasting a ton of thread trying to get it right.

After that, the tension was off for no reason I can figure out. One would think taht since I'm using the same fabric and the same thread, the tension would ahve remained the same, right? So odd. I spent some time fixing that.

Now I'm currently making straps for my dice dress. They will be quite thin and very cute, IF I CAN GET THEM TURNED INSIDE OUT!!!! Seriously, they refuse to do what I'm telling them to do. I'm about 1/8 done with the first one. And that's after 20 minutes.

What did I do to anger the sewing gods like this?
