holytoastr: (sewing)
My friends from high school and I were thinking of going mini-golfing today. However, when I woke up, it was pouring rain. *sigh* Guess that idea is out.

My brother kicked me off the computer early last night, so I ended up doing a lot of sewing. My brother's shirt is nearly finished. I jsut want to check to make sure the sleeves will fit properly, then I can close them up, add cuffs and buttons, and hem the bottom.

Then I can alternate between jess' skirt from a while ago and ben's vest, which I suspect will use the same color thread. Also, I must start preparing the pattern for jess' corset.

When I find some spare cash, I'll go buy trim, and fabric for ben's shirt. And I should probably learn how to make pants for him. Hmmmm....I think I can use a pattern I have, but it'll ahve to wait until he gets here.

Also last night, I was trying on my renfaire costume to inspect it for rips, tears, and other general abuses it may have developed. All looks good. However, before taking my chemise off, I tried on the new bodice top I made for everyday wear. Despite it being completely not period in any way, it looked really good. I may consider wearing that instead. If I wear my hair down, you can't see the zipper in the back. :P

However, that means I should probably construct another skirt to match the bodice. The blue underskirt works fine with purple, but the green overskirt just isn't going to cut it. Maybe a lighter blue overskirt. Wow, I will look like a bluejay or something. :P

I am getting way too into my sewing. Someone please get me out of this house.

Oh, and it's august. That means ben gets here in 8 days. *squee*

For the record, I do not approve of family members speculating on my private matters. It is none of their business.
