Yesterday was ben's birthday. I had grand plans to make him a fantastic birthday dinner.

I woke up early to mix together ingredients for slow cooker chili. Unfortunately I was one tablespoon of chili powder short! Tragedy!

I left work early so I could buy chili powder and bake bread bowls for the chili. But of course I was out of flour. *sigh*

The car was with ben at work so I walked to the grocery store. It's not that far, but I was exhausted. I really need to get back in the habit of walking around.

When I got home, I quickly mixed together brownies and stuck them in the oven, added the last of the chili powder to the slow cooker, and threw the bread ingredients into the bread maker.

Chili came out fine, brownies came out great, and bread came out several hours after we were done eating. Ben had a good birthday dinner despite the bread issues. I'm glad I could do that for him.

He had to work another late shift though, so we went to bed early after that. Poor ben. He has had to work friday nights for over a month now. It's not fair.

He was able to finish his work quickly last night but had drank too much coffee to fall asleep! He's still awake now. Meanwhile I had a full nights sleep and am ready to start the day. I greatly dislike when our schedules don't match up.
Ben's crazy schedule is totally messing me up.

I woke up at 6:30 this morning. No one should ever be awake that hour, let alone on a saturday.

I used the early hours to try to finalize the guest list for the wedding. Everything is done except for my personal list. Then I printed out envelopes for the save the dates.

This took twice as long for several very stupid reasons.

Stupid reason #1: The envelopes my mom had donated were very very old. The tip of the flap on each envelope had become glued shut during that time. So each one had to be very carefully ripped open. The rest of the glue on the flap is fine, it's just the tips. I guess I will have to go out and get stickers to seal them.

Stupid reason #2: My printer was extremely unhappy to be printing on such thick paper. It kept jamming. And the first time it happened, I had absolutely no glue how to open it up to get the paper out. Ben had to save me before I threw the printer across the room.

Stupid reason #3: My printer felt it was best to only print on every other envelope. It printed all the names, but there was a blank envelope left between each printed one. I could only print half of the paper tray's capacity at a time due to this.

Eventually all was printed. Then I made little hotel info inserts and assembled the whole package. Once I get stickers and stamps (and my part of the list finalized), they will be good to go

I had a quick lunch and then worked on bouquets. All of the bridesmaid bouquets are done. I found silver ribbon to go on them, which doesn't look too bad.

My bouquet now has optical fibers attached. The next step is to add the pretty beads and dangly things. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow.

By then it was about 2 and I was intensely tired. I crawled into bed for a short nap and woke up over 4 hours later. So much for my plans to go to the pottery lab.

After my nap, I ate dinner and then started some more seeds. I now have tomatoes in their little cups. They are orange tomatoes. I hope they taste the same as regular ones.

And then I took a hot bath. It once again made me wonder why bathtubs are not designed to fit a human being. I'm short and even I can't completely stretch out in the tub. Disappointing.

I guess I should go to bed soon but I am hungry. Maybe a warm snack will help.
