My dog woke me at 8am because she was starving to death. Now she is full and happily back asleep in bed.

Meanwhile I am now wide awake even though I really need more sleep.

I think I am going to get my revenge by dragging her out of bed for a morning walk.
I achieved shopping today.

First stop was target where I finally managed to find a bathing suit I liked. Now I will have two suits for my cruise, which I believe is the perfect amount. (One to wear and one to dry.) Actually, I also bought an extra bottom because it had a skirt on it for those "My butt is huge and I feel insecure" days.

Nothing like bathing suit shopping to make me feel like my butt really is huge. I had to buy everything in large.

Compare that to the pants I bought, which were a size 2 and still a bit roomy.

It makes me a little paranoid that maybe the pants are vanity sized and I am in fact huge. That thought makes me very sad and worried.

Anyway, after that I went to the craft store where the star shaped punch I wanted was on sale. Lucky! I also got a comb for my veil and some beads to decorate it.

Whole foods was next door where I finally found the pectin I was looking for. Now I can make tasty homemade jelly. Go me!

Soon ben is going to take me out for ice cream. Because he promised. Then I will do some laundry and make strawberry-blueberry-blackberry jelly. Yay!
Decided to make jam rather than jelly so I didn't have to strain the fruit bits out. Too much effort, and I don't mind the extra fruit texture.

Initial tastes so far are promising. I got the pectin that used calcium to gel rather than sugar. I'm glad I did because the fruit was sweet enough! I added a tiny bit to mellow the tart of the blackberries out, but that was it. Barely any at all.

Right now the full jars of jam are boiling in a big pot of water so they don't grow mold. Yay food preservation!

I decided to also make bread to go with my jam. It would be pretty gross to just spoon jam into my mouth. So fresh bread is being kneaded right now in the bread machine. Yay robot house servants!

It was totally insane that the only store in my area that sold pectin was whole foods. Are hippies the only ones who make jelly?

It's also totally insane that we have a super delicious blackberry bush right behind the apartment complex and NO ONE ever picks the fruit from it but me. It's always bursting with fruit. My only competition are the birds, and they prefer the overripe berries. Oh well, more for me and my jelly/jam making plans.
