Chocolate Ice Cream with Peanut Butter Cups

The other night I made ice cream. Chocolate with peanut butter cups. I based it off of Alton Brown's recipe with a few small changes. The peanut butter cups being the first obvious one. But also I added a pinch of salt to enhance the chocolate flavor and 2 teaspoons of vodka to prevent the ice cream from freezing rock solid.

Then I hand-dipped ice cream cones into chocolate and sprinkles to make them fancy. I think they would have been better had I not used dark chocolate, but ben seemed to have liked them.

Also, I made chocolate chip cookie dough, which will be used to make cookies all this week. I feel very clever about the dough. I shaped it into a long roll so that I can slice off pieces as I want. I will use it to make many small cookie batches. It will be delicious.

And I have all the ingredients set aside to make a cake this weekend. I need to make the cake because I have 8 egg whites leftover from the ice cream that I refuse to let go to waste. So I have found both a cake and frosting recipe that will use up exactly 8 egg whites in total. Not sure what I'll do with all that cake though...

Regardless, behold my mighty culinary powers!
Today ben and I went to ikea and did not buy anything. Well, aside from lunch.

We went to gather ideas on what we can do with our house because many of the rooms are quite small. (It'll be very bad if we don't get the house because we have already started thinking of it as our house.) I was especially interested in ways to maximize kitchen space.

I think we got a lot of good ideas. I just wish the store wasn't so far away. I was really tired when we got home.

I was proud of myself for not buying anything. We should just wait until we have the house. Otherwise it'll be more stuff to move!
