Baby shower was a success of sorts! Yay!

The guest of honor was late. :P Oh well, she was only a little bit late. And it made it more of a surprise for her.

It looked like she liked all the gifts I got her. All the old ladies in the office ooh'ed and aah'ed. I smiled politely and hoped she really did like all the stuff.

Everyone really liked the shark towel. I may go back to the store and buy one for myself. It really is a brilliant towel. It would probably only cover my shoulders though...

Incompetent Coworker (IC) was supposed to bring bagels for the party. But she showed up late, at the end of the party actually, sans bagels. Luckily one of the women from online is the nicest person ever and also doubted that IC was going to follow through, so she and her wife spent the night baking fancy cupcakes for the party. They were red velvet except no red food coloring and instead of using cocoa powder they used chopped up bits of chocolate. It was tasty.

IC apologized after the party. I told her it was ok because Lara was reliable and saved the day. The people still in the room laughed at that and yelled, "Burn!"

Truthfully, I never expected her to remember, so I used the bagel money to buy more gifts for the party. I figured that if by some freak chance Lara forgot the cupcakes, I'd just pay for the bagels out of my own pocket. Bagels aren't going to break my budget.

But it all worked out and everyone (who mattered) was happy! Yay!

I never want to plan another baby shower ever again.
