Jun. 10th, 2013 01:37 pmTo put it mildly, this weekend was a weird one.
Friday evening, we learned a friend of ours had gone missing and left a note that reads a lot like a suicide note. After some detective work done by a few of our other friends, we were able to learn she had taken a cab. Ben and I drove out there a few hours after midnight to get an idea of where she could have gone.
We found a townhouse complex butted up against a massive park. We were able to easily enter the park through a hole in the fence but it was huge, dark, and scary. She could have gone anywhere. Tons of paths, hills, the river, the train tracks...
We knew we'd never find her in the dark and more likely would end up getting lost or hurt ourselves, so we turned back and waited for the police to meet up with us. We gave the police all the info we knew, having them also call our other friends with what they knew. The police seemed to take it all very seriously, which was a relief.
Ben and I then drove home and collapsed in bed just as the sun was rising. We slept the entire day. And the we slept half of sunday.
There has been little to no good news, other some activity on her phone saturday morning. Hopefully they find her, but it has been days. So yeah, weird unpleasant weekend.
