The final book in the Ember series. I liked it about as much as I liked the second one.
The ending seemed to indicate that there will be no more. I hope that's wrong. I feel like there are plenty of more stories to tell about that world.
The Trogg family in this book made interesting villains because they weren't really all that bad. They were just looking out for themselves to the best of their abilities in a very crazy hard world. They had no way of knowing that the people of Ember planned on coming back to claim their stuff.
I'm glad in the end they were invited to live in the town of sparks
As for stuff from the previous book tying into this book, I was somewhat right. The events surrounding Mr McCoy tied into this book. He was contacting aliens. Who's probe finally arrives at th end of this book to see that the world they were expecting is very different now. It seemed a bit of a silly thing to throw in unless the author does plan on writing more stories. Otherwise why mention them at all?
