Just as I walked out of the shower, the doorbell rang. I quickly threw on a towel, yelled at my brother to wake up, and started looking for my bathrobe. My brother, very slooooowly waking up, was still looking for a shirt. I had to answer the door in nothing but a bathrobe. Yes, I was upset.
It was some guy to check our meter on the side of the house. I had him wait outside while I frantically searched for keys to open the side gate. By that time my brother was dressed. I threw the keys at him and told him to open the side gate. Then I went back to the front door to let the meter guy know to walk around back.
I suddenly remembered that the dogs were outside. If they opened the gate, I was certain they'd either bark at the meter guy relentlessly or at least try to run away. So I ran to the back door and called the dogs in. Splash returned to the house right away. Nugget was not coming to my calls. Then I see my brother walking up from the side of the yard holding her. She must have decided to play with the meter guy. That dog is too friendly.
With everything under control, I returned to the bathroom. Still flustered, shower time was mostly ruined. It's the only real privacy I get in this house, and it was shattered by a guy at the door. How disappointing.
