Jul. 24th, 2005 12:35 amThe shirt that I am making has finally reached embroidery stage. That pleases me. I worked on my shirt a lot today, since ben was busy and I felt I shouldn't bother him. (Despite wanting to A LOT.) The shirt is done enough that I can comfortably iron the pattern on and start making the shirt look pretty.
I am embroidering a golden dragon, using the pattern from Sublime Stitching's China Town set. I hope it will come out nice. I am using a rich yellow for the gold, with a lighter yellow as shiny highlights. I might also add some green or red for the frills and scales and whatnot. Probably red, since it is luckier. Also, if I ever get myself out to a fabric store, I'm thinking of getting that fancy fancy metal embroidery floss. Then it would really be gold and shiny! That would look nifty on the body scales, I would think.
In other news, I read this off neil gaiman's journal: Dear Callie and Alex,
well, Coraline is now officially in production. And it's not by Tim Burton, but it is by the man who directed Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, Mr Henry Selick. It will have songs by They Might Be Giants. According to this article -- http://www.timeout.com/film/news/540.html -- it will probably be out sometime in 2007.
That makes me far too happy. Let's hope it does not go the way of Good Omens. Also, let's hope it is not bad. With so many good things combined into one film, if it is awful I may have to leap off a cliff.
Well, back to embroidery until I cant see. Then sleep.
