Oct. 6th, 2005 02:23 pmThe idea behind The Story of the Stone is that it is an actual magical stone recounting one of his past lives to monks who wrote the story which we are reading. However, it's rarely something you remember through the story.
Until you come across strange little scenes where the stone himself adds a footnote ("Stone's note to reader") to the text. He even signs it, "--Stone." It's a little bit odd when you realize again that The Story of the Stone is a stone's story!
Or maybe I'm just weird. Anyway, back to the book.
[EDIT] Oh no! I finished the book! Now what?
I need to finish the books I have at home before I get to book 3. *pouts* I wish I had brought another book with me! I have so much reading to do!
