Well, by getting up at 5am and leaving the apartment around 6, I managed to completely avoid all traffic towards baltimore. That means I got to the convention center at 7. Wooooo....

I then promptly got lost in the convention center. For half an hour. And I nearly registered for a different convention. I am special.

Eventually I found the remodeling show and registered and found my boss at the first course I had to go to.

The first course had far too much jesus and social darwinism. It made me uncomfortable. Folks, if you are ever going to be a speaker for something, don't bring jesus into the thing unless it is relevant to what you are teaching. So, if you are telling people how to market a business effectively, don't suggest jesus is going to jump off his fluffy cloud to give you a hand. If he is in fact sitting up on a fluffy cloud, he's probably got more to worry about (war, poverty, disease...) to care which thanksgiving card you are going to send out this year.

The second class was a little better, though there was this marketing guy in the class with me who was purposely trying to trip up the speaker. He kept bringing up things that the speaker hadn't mentioned and contradicted the speaker a lot. I thought it was very rude. But the speaker was good about it and kept going. He mentioned my company too, which surprised me a bit.

After all my classes, my boss and I went down to the showroom. I entered a contest for power tools. :P I guess I can give them to ben if I win.

The best free thing I got was a gigantic yard stick of doom. It didn't completely fit in my (free) bag, so every time I turned I would take out the people within a half yard radius of myself. It was SO cool. I named it my stick of doom, and gladly let people know that when I hit, or nearly hit them.

I headed home in the early afternoon, but hit a bit of traffic. It took me a little bit more than an hour to get home. And oh god I was so tired.

Ben helped me into bed and I slept a good couple of hours. Then I woke up and made dinner and tea. I feel much better now.

In randomness, I noticed that all our tea is from china now. I like the oolong tea the best, but the green tea's packaging makes me smile. It says, "Fragrant Aroma Mellow Taste Homely Refresher Valuable Gift" on the little envelopes. The homely refresher part is what does it for me. When I take a sip of tea, I can feel safe knowing that it is homely refreshing me.

And now I must tend to tiny fudge cakes I made for ben. They should be cool now and ready for the final layer of fudge frosting.

Were the rest of the people in the class as disappointed in the jesus-jerking sermon as you were?

I truthfully don't know since I wasn't really paying attention to their reactions. Though I should point out that it WAS yom kippur so any religious jews were not there.
