My mother sent me an email around 10 this morning. I'm at work and kinda busy so I let it sit in my mailbox. I figure I'll reply to it tonight when I have time.

I just got another email from her, four and a half hours later, frantically demanding to know if I'm ok. I didn't respond to her last email so she assumed something was wrong.

WHAT is wrong with my mother? It's not like I have a habit of answering her emails quickly. It normally takes me a day or two to get around to it. But this time she acts like the world is ending? The email isn't even important. She just asked how my dog and I were doing without ben. Not end of the world subject matter, really.

Bah. Some days I feel like I should block her email address.

Officially, no.

Though by this point if she hasn't guessed it, she's a lot dumber than I ever imagined.

I'm sure she knows. She's not that dumb, just insane.

I sorta hope she knows. Cause then it proves she was completely wrong. No drinking, drugs, babies, etc. Just a very happy couple living together and not bothering anyone.

You're proving her wrong every day. Who cares whether she knows? ;)

That would only make the phone calls that much worse.
"Why didn't you reply to my email?! Did you get it?!"

Yeah, you're right. Which is why I don't do it.

the only time I am ever grateful that my mom could care less about me is when I hear any of my friends (online and otherwise) telling me about how often their mother calls to make sure they are OK. I was gone for two weeks last year and my mom didn't notice (hell I was gone for a month and a half when I was 16 before my mom noticed that I wasn't at my dad's).

I've had more customers who have been more worried about me being gone for 3 days, then have had my mom call me to find out if i'm doing all right. its sickening but true.

Wow, that'a all the way to the other extreme. I'm not sure I'd like that either.

I wouldn't mind a reasonable level of worry. Like, perhaps a couple days. But freaking out over hours is just crazy.
