Aug. 23rd, 2006 11:51 amSurvived court. Yay.
I was smart to leave myself an hour to get to court. There was a ton of construction in that area and I ended up on a weird detour and missed the courts and had to turn around but there were more detours. I hate driving.
Then there was the parking garage... I have come to believe that most people in virginia see a parking garage not as a place to temporarily store their car, but as a vertical demolition derby. Eventually I made it high enough to avoid the chaos and was able to find a spot.
There was more construction being done on the court buildings, so I followed a maze of signs to find the correct building. There, they took away my phone because it had a camera in it and then swooshed me over with the metal detector stick because I was wearing very dangerous zippers. They also went through my purse, I'm sure because they thought my ds was a bomb. I feel horribly violated and now I WANT to blow up that building.
Inside was another maze with signs that were not all that helpful. I caved in and asked someone for help. They told me I was on the wrong floor. That would explain why I couldn't find the court room.
Once I got to court, I sat around and listened to cases. One guy was even brought up in chains. There was stolen merchandise, embezzlement, stalking and trespassing, drugs... Then they get to my case. No rabies certificate. :P
I said 5 words the entire time. Not guilty yes thank you. Took less than 5 minutes. That was the easiest part of the entire day. The judge threw out my case because I brought a rabies certificate and all was good.
I did get lost again on the way home because of those horrible detours, but not as badly. Now I'm home eating lunch. Once I'm done, I'm going to bring ben lunch. Then get to work. I had a ton of stuff to do today. :( Bah.
