holytoastrI knew as soon as the alarm went off this morning that today was going to be rough. In fact, I refused to get out of bed for nearly an hour. Instead I whined to ben I wanted to die.
I had a bunch of bad dreams last night. In the most vivid one, I was lost in a really bad neighborhood. Houses were falling apart and yards were a complete mess. Some houses were missing entire walls or roofs. I could see people leering at me from their homes. I was incredibly uncomfortable. Despite that, I stupid got out of my car and walked up to a house to ask for directions.
The door was open so I wandered inside. When I turned around, it was closed and locked. Someone was watching me from a dark corner. I wandered around the house that was built like a maze, opening doors to horrible scary people. Every time, I'd slam the door and run in another direction. Eventually I found a door out of the place, but my car was gone.
I turned around and saw people hanging out their windows, yelling at me and throwing stuff. A rotten peach hit my arm as I started to run away. One of the people came out of the house and started to follow me. I started to get so scared, my legs would give out. Every time that happened, I'd try to claw my way across the yard so the person following couldn't catch up as much.
Eventually I reached a main road with a school. I started to run toward the school when I remembered that I had my cell phone. I called ben and screamed for him to come find me at BLAH school. Before I reached the school, my legs gave out again. The person was right on top of me. Then I woke up.
So yeah, I wasn't in a good mood this morning. And ben was too sleepy to hug me and make the scared go away.
Then at work, my boss is back in the office. After two peaceful weeks of getting things done at a relaxing pace, everything needs to be done NOW because everything is SO URGENT. It's quite jarring after my relaxing time. I had a ton of stuff to do today but I actually got it all done. I just didn't take any breaks. I am very exhausted now though.
Tonight I need to go back to spring cleaning. I need the apartment clean before jess and tara come visit. It's so soon!
Oh, but I did get a tiny bit of good news today. Defenders of Wildlife sent me an application for employment. It's not a contract though, so I won't get my hopes up. Still, it's a good sign if they want you to fill out paperwork.
