As far as I know, it's still hiding in the suitcase. I haven't tried to move it yet. I think if I can catch it, I'll let it outside to roam free though. I don't know how to take care of a lizard.
Aww. Lizards are super easy. Just make sure to feed them different stuff (they love greens!) and throw in the occasional fly/bug, if you happen to find one (spider crickets!). Thing is, you have to make sure their little tank is nice and warm, 'cause they don't do well in cold weather.
Letting it go free isn't a good idea, because when it gets cold out it'll die. If you don't want to keep it, I'd bring it to a pet store where they know what to do!
I miss having a lizard. :P You should take pictures for me!
But it's a wild lizard. I don't think it would handle cage life very well. I've tried making wild animals pets before and they usually died very quickly. (The only one that didn't was a turtle that I set free before it died.)
It'll probably hang out in or near the apartments, so I don't think it will have a problem. If crickets and snakes can get into my apartment, a lizard will fit right in. And even if it does die, I'd feel better if it died due to nature rather than my own incompetence. (Though texas can get pretty chilly in winter.)
