I'm a bad pet owner. :(

When noname broke her nail, I assumed she'd chew off the offending dangly bit so I didn't bother to call the vet. I didn't want to spend money on something she'd handle anyway.

But she hasn't chewed the broken part off. And it's really hurting her. She cries in her sleep sometimes. :(

I should have called the vet right away and not cared about the cost. She's my baby and I should have taken care of her properly. And now the vet is closed until monday.

Should I try an emergency clinic? I checked their websites and they all seem to imply that a broken nail is not an emergency. But she's in pain. :( I should have at least called the vet and asked about pain killers for her.

My poor baby....

i'm sure you can pick up baby aspirin tomorrow; it'll probably help at least a little bit. is there anyway you can cut the broken part off yourself?

She cries when I normally cut her nails. If I tried to cut a nail that actually hurt, she'd completely flip out. Plus, I don't think I could ever force myself to hurt her like that, even if it would help her in the long run. The break is almost at the base of the nail. I'm going to need someone to do it for me.
