Tomorrow night I am going to the fancy 60th Anniversary dinner for work. I needed to get a nice dress for the event. I figured a simple black one should be good enough.

Why do none of the stores in the mall sell a simple black dress? Everything was prom dresses! Ok, I lie, one store had a simple black dress. For $150. I nearly cried.

I gave up extremely frustrated and went home to repair a non-fancy black dress I have. I'm not going to look nice but at this point I don't care as much. If they want me to look nice, they are going to have to pay me more so I can afford overpriced dresses.

I think one of my next sewing projects should be a simple black dress for occasions like this.

a bit late, but while i rarely find good deals at the mall, i find good deals near the mall - at the tj maxx and marshalls that are right close to tyson's corner. good luck with the sewing!

I thought about that, but TJ Maxx was closed before I even got to the mall. Shopping late at night isn't very smart. ^^;
