Aug. 1st, 2009 12:25 pmToday was a health and beauty day for noname.
We went to the vet this morning. She was due for her annual exam and a rabies shot. We got stuck with the mean doctor, but at least she praised me for getting noname's weight down. She lost 2 lbs since her last visit! Noname and I have been working very hard on that.
Then I scheduled a dental appointment for noname because her teeth are horrendous. If you have a dog, start brushing their teeth now so they don't end up like noname's!!! She's going to have at least three teeth pulled. Poor baby. But those teeth look so horrible. I think she'll feel better once they are gone.
For that, noname needed a whole bunch of tests, so she got to have her blood drawn, poop squeezed out, and chased after with a cup to catch urine. It was quite an adventure for her.
The entire day cost me $470. Oh my god so expensive. And the dental operation is another $630. This dog better realize how much I love her.
When that was over, we moved onto the beauty part of the day. We stopped at the pet store to get her nails trimmed. As usual, she kept trying to fly off the table. The groomer foolishly tried to use the nail clippers even though I told her not to and got bit. Good thing noname got her shots that morning.
Even though it was her own fault, I still felt bad and gave her a little bit extra for a tip. It's not fun to be bit by a dog.
To make up for the trauma of the day (the hello kitty thermometer in the butt was bad enough), I bought noname a treat that fits in her kong toy. She's happily eating it now.
It was funny driving home because she guarded the treat the whole time. Any time it slid down the seat, she'd stomp her foot on it as if to say, "No treat, you are mine."
