Book - The Scarecrow of Oz

holytoastrProbably the worst of the oz books so far. Seems like the stories just keep going downhill. This one seemed like it was written as a totally different story, but was revised with some oz characters thrown in later so someone would buy it.
It's about a girl named Trot and a sailor named Captain Bill who get lost in a whirlpool and end up in all sorts of magic lands. Towards the very end of the story, they find themselves up against King Krewl (I know, so creative...) when suddenly the scarecrow appears to save them. The last couple chapters then tell about them making it to the emerald city with the scarecrow.
The next Oz book is Rinkitink of Oz. I do not have high hopes for it.
