Aug. 16th, 2009 05:09 pmFirst harvest of the year!

My cucumber plants have been a bit of a disappointment. One tiny malformed cucumber between two fully grown bushes? Lame.
The yellow cherry tomatoes though were a good idea. They take much less time to ripen. And there are still so many outside! They should be ready in a few days.
Maybe I'll buy some lettuce and make a salad for what I have so far. I hope the cucumber doesn't taste as bad as it looks.

Date: 2009-08-17 05:21 pm (UTC)I'm not sure anyone would eat an ugly cucumber like that in a restaurant. It's.... really ugly.

Date: 2009-08-17 05:25 pm (UTC)Out of pity, I took him driving, corrected his errors (nobody told him he wasn't stopping long enough at stop signs?!?!) and taught him how to parallel park in my car, then let him use my car for his test.
I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO NERVOUS IN MY LIFE. Someone who was NOT ME was driving my car and I WASN'T EVEN IN IT.
He passed. Life is good.
I hope you feel better soon!!
Also, yeah, that cucumber is... rather ugly.

Date: 2009-08-17 05:32 pm (UTC)I took him driving on Saturday and kinda taught him then, but then last night my father undid all of the work I did on Saturday, because he's a miserable old jerk. So I took him out again this morning and re-taught him. He couldn't do it the first 4 times we tried but then I told him exactly how far to turn the wheel at first, and he did it right twice.
That made him less nervous, I think, cause he had something to fixate on.
Apparently during the test he was a bit far away from the curb, but because he "didn't seem nervous" she passed him. :P
He's still got a lot of practicing to do.
