Fun. I just read this morning about yet another way metro is trying to kill me.
Over 30 years ago, metro put down the foundations for a bridge for a metro expansion. Then they ran out of money. Somehow all the paperwork for these foundations went missing and the foundations also disappeared from memory.
Today, the expansion is finally happening. And the foundations were re-discovered. And they fit perfectly with the plans of the expansion, so they can be used! But no one knows what sort of condition they're in because they've been buried without any sort of maintenance for 30+ years.
And yet the company working on the expansion sees no reason why these foundations should be inspected. Fantastic. I can easily imagine the first time a train goes over this bride, some crack in the foundation causes the whole thing to collapse, destroying the expansion AND the major highway below it.
But no, don't inspect. That might put you behind schedule or over budget. *sigh*
