I feel like today was such a waste. I woke up early, got ready and went all the way down to asj only to find that there was some sports ceremony going on an nobody was around. So amanda and I went to taras to find her jsut leaving for work. We drove her to work, and then amanda and I went to her house. Her prairie dog hated me, so we went upstairs. Amanda had to clean and go shopping so I had to leave.
With the entire day ahead of me, I went to the thrift store in search of costume stuff. Found a leather jacket, if you can call it that. It had so many rips and holes in it, it would cost a fortune to repair!!! Was no worth it. However, did find a sewing book that I had been looking for. $2. Go me.
While in the parking lot, some person in a car waved at me. Naively thinking I might know that person, I waved back. The guy drove into the parking lot, revealing I had no clue who he was. He told me I looked very pretty and that must mean I was married. Then he asked if that was true. He REALLY creeped me out. Bad vibes all around. So I lied and told him I had a boyfriend and wasn't looking for anyone else and that I had to go sorry goodbye. Then I slammed my car door, locked it, and drove away.
Decided to go job searching. Let me tell you, NO ONE is hiring in this awful town. I filled out only 3 applications and was given a beeper number from a girl who couldn't speak english. (How she was able to work in smithtown, a primarily english speaking town, I ahve no clue.) Tomorrow I'll try the other direction from my house a bit, and maybe the mall area.
No, wait. Tomorrow hang out with Tara. So um, guess I'll do that friday.
Anyway, I finally gave up. Went to the library before going home. Wanted to know if they had an IME on their computers so that I could type in japanese. I'm pretty sure this computer will fall over and die if I try to install one here. The lady at the desk didn't know, but she went over to the office to ask.
While she was gone, I was left to the mercy of some guy who knew EVERYTHING about computers.... *sigh* He told me all I have to do is change the language setting on my email program. And I tried to explain that that doesn't allow me to TYPE in japanese. All it does is read japanese. He wouldn't listen though, because as I have mentioned, he knows everything there is about computers.
When the lady came back with the guy in charge of the computers, he understood what I wanted and said he'd look into it. (read: he'll push it to the side never to be thought of again.) He also tried to explain to the idiot guy what I had been trying to explain. That his suggestion only reads japanese, not types.
Eventually I escaped. And I'm home. I refuse to leave now. I'm going to eat and settle down with some Fruits Basket and make happy sqealing noises at all the fun things. And sad sniffly noises because my summer will never be that exciting. :P
Time to check email. Then food and mindless cartoons. Whee....
