My stupid wisdom tooth grew a little bit more and now the entire right side of my jaw is full of painful death. I hope it settles down soon. The dentist keeps telling me to pull it out. But that sounds more painful than how it hurts now!

In other news, tropical depression barry has begun to cry overhead. I hope he works out his issues. It's just a little off and on drizzle so far. For me, that means I will have to battle the enraged hordes to find myself some pectin. (Because boiling apples for hours is NOT fun.) It's a good thing I don't need bread or milk.

I'm thinking shower, sew until my hair is manageable, to the store for pectin, and then strawberry jelly time.
After eating about a billion strawberries for breakfast, there is now a change in plans. Jelly will not be made. Instead, strawberry shortcake. (These strawberries from the farmer's market are so good i can't stop eating them.)
My shortcake plans were temporarily thwarted when I discovered bugs in the flour. The internet says that the eggs are in all bags of flour but that seems weird to me because I never had flour bugs until I moved here. I think virginia gave me flour bugs. Still, that would explain how the bugs get in my flour when it is tightly sealed in a ziploc bag. Stupid bugs....

Anyway, I had to go to the store to buy clean flour. That wasn't too big a deal because I needed to buy whipped cream too. While there I looked for pectin. It's a good thing I switched plans because it seems my store doesn't carry pectin! (I guess people in this area are too busy washing their cars to make something homemade.)

With everyone stocking up for the omg!storm, lines were crazy. Except for the evil self-checkout. I hate those things. They're especially annoying because they get upset with me for using my own bag. That tiny bit of extra weight messes up the sensors on the stupid things. I survived though. And didn't have to use up another plastic bag!

Now to make strawberry shortcake! Yay!
Shortcake has been accomplished. I would share it with everyone if they were here. It's so tasty!

I used farmer's market strawberries and homemade biscuits. The whipped creamed was store-bought, but I can be a little lazy, right?

Tasty! )
One of the upstairs neighbors decided to empty out their vacuum over the side of their balcony. I know this because all of the dust and crud has just fallen into my veggie pots. Fantastic.
