Jun. 5th, 2008 08:55 pmI successfully survived the company picnic today. I even socialized a tiny bit. Go me!
Talked with the new director a bit, then ate lunch with some of my coworkers from my department, read a book while everyone went off to play kickball and lawn games, and then played boardgames with some coworkers from the online department.
I think I did a pretty good job balancing the day out so I didn't feel too stressed at the end of the day. Yay!
The only major disappointment with the picnic was the caterers. They packed everything up over an hour before the picnic was over! I was thinking of getting some watermelon to snack on while I read, but it was already gone. They even packed up the drinks, which was a serious problem when everyone came back thirsty from their kickball game. Madness.
I got mildly lost on the way home, but I managed. Then I used the evening to shampoo the carpets. I only finished half of them, but I'm taking a half day tomorrow. I'll finish it up then.
And now my dog is telling me she desperately needs a walk. I must save her.
