For those keeping track (ie only me), Metro has so kindly decided to re-open some of the parking lots for inauguration day. Not because they realized no one could take the train if they can't get to the station, but because they could not find enough tour buses to pay to park there.

Today the red line was testing their 8 car systems. They broke down. Glad I wasn't on that line. My line just had police and military practicing patrols. It was kinda unnerving to see so many guns being waved around.

In non-metro news, my dog refused to go out for a walk yesterday due to the pouring rain. So I got to wake up this morning to many piles of poop and pee in the kitchen. I woke up not feeling too well, and this did not help.

I think on saturday I want to scrub and disinfect that floor. I clean it every time with a deodorizer (trying to dissuade my dog from peeing in the same spot), but I want to use bleach or something this weekend for peace of mind.
Spiderman + Obama = Totally Awesome!
I think I may have finally found a place for the wedding. Captain Bills. (Warning: Website contains annoying music.)

- Affordable. And EVERYTHING is included. Everything I could imagine asking about was included. (And I had a huge list because I am paranoid.) Even the open bar!

- Private. The room is in a separate building from the restaurant and can only fit one party a day. They mentioned that also means my decorator can show up at 9am (when they open) to start setting up and no one will disturb them.

- Boring. No ugly curtains or columns or palm trees. Just a big empty room with big windows and a dance floor. Perfect for decorating outside the box.

- Laid back. The only decoration restriction they have is tacks on the walls. Glitter, confetti, whatever we want is all good. And there's no clean up fee.

- Local food choices. Ben and I wanted to include some local foods on the menu. They said they regularly use local seafood. (It being an island and all.) And when we choose our menu selections, they can tell us which fish are in season.

Here's a picture of the place decorated for someone's Xmas/NYE wedding. All the flowers and chair things were brought in my the couple getting married. I asked them to hold our date for a few days for me to sleep on it, but I think this is the way to go.

It's really a shame I can't go with cradle of aviation, but I just couldn't get an affordable price no matter what I did. It was a beautiful location, but for a party that is only going to last a few hours? No way! It's just a wedding!
