Apr. 17th, 2009 02:20 pmI am glad today is friday and the week is nearly over.
I had to go to work early today because of a large meeting we were having that started at 9am sharp.
I missed my stop on the metro though because I was so focused on my video game, I didn't notice what was going on. I had to back track a couple stops.
Then I get to work around 8:30 and see the caterer leaving the building with an empty cart. He wasn't supposed to show up for another 20 minutes! Someone had signed for the food and had him set it up, but it wasn't the right stuff.
But I couldn't find the invoice to see if they charged us for the right stuff or the wrong stuff. (Important difference of about $3 total.) Eventually I discovered the receptionist had it. They charged us for the right stuff and gave us the wrong stuff. I am debating whether or not it's worth calling to fix the invoice. It's only $3 and I hate the phone.
Anyway, aside from setting up for the meeting, I also had an important email to send. I got it out just before the meeting officially started. I was pleased because that info needed to be out first thing in the morning.
3 hours later I finally get back to me desk and see the email never went out because of spell check. *sigh*
Then the production person comes by and asks me why I never sent copy to pubs for a certain piece of our project of doom. I showed her the email conversation where she told me not to send the copy until she said so, and the various follow up emails I had asking her if she had talked to them yet.
So now pubs has the copy but is angry with us. And I am angry with her for accusing me of messing something up. But I covered my butt with email, so she has no power over me.
I am incredibly ready to go home and start the weekend. I need a nap and a cookie.
