So tired....*falls over*

I tried looking for garage sales today. Only found a few. Nothing that good. One place had a really nifty old school house desk (the wooden ones) but do I really NEED an old school house desk? o.0

It gave me inspiration though. I went for a drive to go to a few places I'd seen on my way to and from places but never actually had time to stop at. I was being all spontanious!

First stop was the St James General Store. It was so cute!!! And it had all sorts of cute duck stuff!!!! I was good and didn't buy any more ducks. (That will make [livejournal.com profile] taraisagoddess happy.) They had lots of amusing old fashioned candy too. I might go back later and try some.

I was going to visit the farm house next door, but I wasn't sure if they gave tours or if it was just shows. I think I want to try one of their shows. But it's $30 a ticket, and I don't ahve that kind of money. Plus I don't want to do something like that alone.

So I drove back home, grabbed the old bag of wheat bread that no one ate, and drove out to the Grist Mill. I was wandering around the building, trying to find an entrance, when the tour lady opened the door and asked if I wanted to join the door. I figured why not!

The tour lady downstairs showed us how they took the kernals off the um...whole corn thingie. And she told us lots and lots and lots of history. Then she said we could go upstairs and meet the "miller."

I was amused by the "watch your head" sign above the stairway. And I laughed at all the silly tall people! Mwahaha!

The miller was talking to me like I was 6...But that's ok, cause I got to volunteer for everything. >^^< I poured the kernals into a bin that dropped it down into another bin that drops it onto the grindstone. I felt special.

All the corn they grind up, they sell at the end to feed the ducks. But I thought ahead and was glad to get rid of the bread I brought.

The ducks didn't like the bread, but the geese did. I made them full and happy. there was a mean swan flying around chasing poor geese and ducks. I don't know why people like swans. They're such mean nasty birds!

Well, by then it was 4 and I went back home because all the palces clsoe at 4 this time of the year I think. And I am so hungry. I need food. *tummy grumbles*
