This weekend, ben and I got new tires finally installed on our car. Costco has awful customer service, by the way. But I guess that's what you get with the cheapest price.
Since it would take an hour for them to put the tires on the car, ben and I decided we would cross the street to the next strip mall to eat breakfast and do a little shopping. We were amazed that there were absolutely no crosswalks or lights or anything to get across the street. Whoever thinks the suburbs are boring never tried to walk to a strip mall. We had to live dangerously.
The only sit down breakfast place in the area was friendly's. They're notoriously slow, but that was ok because we had an hour to kill. I was a little disappointed that no one offered me ice cream with my breakfast. (Even cheesecake factory offered me cheesecake with breakfast!)
After we ate, we bought new wipers at an autoparts store and gifts for my pets at the pet store. By then it was time to cross the street of death again and pick up the car.
There was a huge line when we arrived, but thankfully at one point they asked, "anyone just picking up?" and we were able to grab our keys and get out of there. Now I have new shiny tires that won't fall apart on me for a couple years. Yay!
