I did good!
Tonight was Saturn and Muses. I figured I wasn't going to go cause Muses is the all female krewe and the guys wanted to go on their own.
But the last minute I got an IM saying that they were elaving in 5 minutes if I wanted to go. Yay!!! So I bounced over to Patterson to meet up with everyone. When I got there Greg complained that I didn't have nearly enough layers on and that I was going to freeze to death out there. So I stole one of his sweatshirts. Remind me to return that to him...still wearing it. It's warm.
Speaking of cold. It was COLD! VERY COLD!!! It started to rain. But we thought it was ok! Charlie and Greg both brought umbrellas. All was supposed to be good. And yeah, for Charlie and Kelly all was good. But I'm so short! *sniffle*
So first we tried both standing up. Didn't work. I'm so short that I got wet anyway. So we set up the chair and greg sat while I stood. Still didn't work. Now I was too tall and Greg was getting wet. So being tiny payed off. I managed to squish into the seat and we stayed dry! Yay!
At least until the parade started. It's kinda hard to catch beads with an umbrella over your head. So we had to get up. And we got soaked...*sniffle*
The first parade was Saturn. They didn't give out many beads. *pout* I got a few though! Even a big clump at one point! And it poured! So much rain! And I was so cold! And I was shivering. And no matter how much he tried to warm me up I just shivered more. It was SO COLD!!!
Then the second parade started. This was the one we had gone to see in the first place. It was called Muses and it had an all female krewe. So Kelly and I didn't get many beads. But the guys got a ton!!!! So many that they were giving us them. Cause they just had more than they could handle.
And it was so cold! And so wet! And we were trying so many ways to stay warm and it just wasn't working. The most successful was a huge group hug, but you can't do that when the parade is going cause then you can't see the floats or catch beads. At one point Greg was dancing to the band music to warm up. It was silly!
Oh and Muses adored him! They dumped so many beads down on him! I kept getting hit in the head by the stuff he missed! *sniffle* It would hurt... Especially the teddy bear medallions. They liked to give him those. And when he dropped them they landed on my head....*ouch*
And no, I don't know why the Navy is so fond of Charlie. Male or female navy officers, they always give him the best stuff.
Muses was giving out these SCARY little dolls. Evil scary things. I caught one. But I gave it to Greg cause I figured it would try to kill me in my sleep if I kept it. He named it Squeaky. Cause when you squeeze it's head, it squeaks! It's sooooooooooooooo scary......
And while we were trying to elave, a street washer attacked us! (The big trucks with the brushes and stuff.) It was scary! When we got back to campus, we first bragged to Jen cause she couldn't go. Then we ordered pizza! Mmmm....food.....
And we watched tv and ate food in Kelly's room until her roommate kicked us out cause she had an early class. So i'm back ehre cause we were all sooooooooooo tired!
I'm going to go to bed in a bit....sleeeeeeepy.....

And when people saw how many beads I had while walking back, their eyes would pop out of their heads and they'd go, "What did you DO to get those beads!?"
And we'd giggle at them and explain that we waited out in the pouring rain for 3 hours and deserved every bead!
Soooooooooooooo many!!! And it was so hard to get them all off afterwards!!! For Kelly and Charlie it was easy, cause they have short hair. So it was just a matter of getting the beads over their heads. But Greg and I have really long hair. And we both had it down. Plus it rained so our hair was all wet and sticky and tangly. So the beads kept getting stuck. It took us forever to get all of them off! So...tangled...
But so much fun! So many beads! I will save some pretty ones for you!
