holytoastrWheeee! Convention!!!! I went to an anime convention today!!!! It was fun!!!!

pappawolf got two people, chris and neil. And thye weren't too scary! Yay!!!
There was so much cosplay! I was jealous! I wanted to cosplay! Except the guys cosplaying as girls kinda scared me. I have a general rule. DO NOT dress as a woman UNLESS you can pull it off!!!! *shudders* I do not need to see my favorite character with an adams apple thank you very much.
The amvs were really nice! One even had the fanservice car from utena! That amused me! Another had transformers dancing to particle man. That was so worth it. :)
Another great thing was Scott McNeil. He's Duo-sama!!!!! Hehe! He was so amusing! And he can do a MILLION differnet voices!!!! I was amused by his thoughts on the weather down here. He said its the only place he's been to where you can FEEL the air. And he threw beads. But I didn't catch any. *pout*
The dealers rooms was full of so many wonderful things!!! There was a bag that said, "anime: Crack is cheaper." And so many cute things! And so many pretty things! And um, stuff! The e-z chop sticks disturbed me.
There was one mean dealer that yelled at me for commenting on how over priced his sailor moon dolls were. Well excuse me, but you really shouldn't sell something for 200% what's being sold in the stores. *hrmph*
I did get some stuff! I got a ryo-ohki backpack and a kuroneko-sama plushie! Wheee!
And you know, I should shower and go to bed soon, cause I've got work taining-ness tomorrow. :P

Heh. I can't really comment on the guys dressing up as girls thing.. It was my idea for my guy friends to dress up as Lulu from FFX. And they did. It was awful, but really fun. ^^; You should cosplay next time ^_^ I want to work on costumes now..... *kills homework*

Date: 2002-09-08 03:17 pm (UTC)As for all the manly lulu's...You guys did it as a genuine joke. You were intentionally trying to avoid looking feminine. These were guys who were trying VERY HARD at being a girl and FAILING very badly.
Women do have a slight cosplay advantage. So many men look so...pretty in anime! The guys look like women more than half the time!!! But I don't think there are any women that look manly. Even the "butch" characters still look very very fem. So it's very hard for guys to pull off a good female character. I try to be understanding of that...but when they are trying to be SERIOUS and they don't shave off the beard...Well, it's kinda hard to be forgiving...
