Jun. 7th, 2003 12:11 pmMmmmm....Bagels..... If you've never had a bagel anywhere near the general region of ny, you don't know what you're missing. The best bagels you will ever eat. Be jealous, go ahead. This bagel is so yummy that it even stands up against stupid fat free cream cheese. Why did my parents buy fat free? No clue. But it tastes gross. Thank god for the bagel.
Last night I watched Run Lola Run. I had been curious about it for a long time. It was on Bravo last night so I figured I'd give it a try. So many movies and tv shows reference it, I thought it might be good at least to understand the reference.
Surprisingly enough, I liked it. Wasn't the best movie I'd ever seen, but it was enjoyable. Generally, when I'm not interested in a movie I ants round a lot or fall asleep. For this movie, I didn't start antsing until the very end. And I think that was more due to length than content.
Nothing was explained or followed up. That was kinda frustrating, as I like stories to keep going on and on. However, that never works because as neil wrote once, if you don't stop the characters all will die eventually. But the way the film was set up, it kinda made it ok that nothing was followed. The loose ends are meant to be there, so I can deal with them. :P
Anyway, I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it if I'd seen it in the theater. But renting it or watching it on tv is perfectly acceptable. It was entertaining at least.
Today I'm going to walmart with my parents. Maybe I can convince them to buy me shiny things. Like a belt. I really need a belt.

NY bagels and Sandman
Date: 2003-06-07 10:27 am (UTC)and was reading this Poppy Z. Brite book, and came across a neil reference:
"Lucrece is sitting on the couch in the living room paging through one of Benny's old Sandman comic books.... But she's having trouble making any sense of the story, something about the King of Dreams and his crazy sister looking for their lost brother. And there's a raven named Matthew..."
yay for neil references!
