Aug. 2nd, 2003 12:12 pmStayed up all night working on a slip to go under my dress. I decided to make one after trying the dress on with no shirt or shorts on underneath. (I'm too lazy to take off my clothes when I'm trying on loose-fitting outfits.) To me surprise, I could see my undies. Not a good thing!
So I immediately went to work on a simple slip. Basically, I took a piece of fabric and turned it into a tube. Then I cut a few slits in it, and added extra triangles of fabric to make it poof out a little. After I iron all of those seams, I'm going to hem it and add an elastic band at the top to keep it up.
It's incredibly simple, yet achieves its purpose. Made completely without a pattern! The extra fabric I added also helps give the dress a bit more body, an added bonus. And no one can see my undies! Yay! :)
