A few hours of zelda have been played. Then a bit of guitar hero. My fingers on my left hand are very sad now.

Called my parents. Doctors have confirmed that grandpa's cancer is terminal because he's too weak for chemo and told us at this point we should just make sure he's comfortable. It will be an extremely morbid trip home next month.

Ben is napping right now and I'm not sure how I plan on entertaining myself.
Yesterday was kinda really awful. I definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed with that nightmare. And then I got pretty bruised up in tae kwon do class. After that, I took a nap and woke up to find my game had started and no one thought to try to contact me. I get overemotional when I first wake up so I started feeling sad and angry about that. Then noname was hurting and I felt so guilty I wanted to throw myself in front of a speeding car or something.

It's the littlest thing that got me in the end though. I stubbed my toe. I decided after that to give up and go to bed. I wasn't really tired though so I just cried. Noname, worried about me, got ben to check on me. They stopped me from crying and I managed to finish the rest of the game.

Today was noticeably better than yesterday. Ben and I went to see the bodies exhibit in rosslyn. They use a special process that preserves skin, bone, and tissues so you can see how the body actually looks without it getting bloated by formaldehyde and stuff.

It was pretty neat but too short. It only took us an hour to walk through the whole thing, and we were taking our time reading each of the descriptions on the exhibits. But the cost/time was the only disappointment.

My favorite part of the exhibit was the blood vessels. They removed everything but the tiny little blood vessels that run through the body. By themselves, the blood vessels looked like corral and sea weed. It was really interesting.

Also, I did notice and appreciate that the restrooms were near the digestive track section. Nice.

After the exhibit, I took ben out for sushi. There was a restaurant nearby that was rated some of the best sushi in virginia. Ben said it was very good sushi. I'm glad I could make him happy.

Before we returned home, we stopped at microcenter so ben could buy toys. I played guitar hero. The guy at the register kept looking at my chest which was making me feel uncomfortable and I ended up hiding behind ben.

I tried to take a nap when I got home but I was too awake. Instead I played some video games for a bit and then had a snack. Not sure what I will do now. I kinda want to play more guitar hero but ben is still sleeping and I don't want to wake him.
For some unknown reason, my teacher didn't show up to tae kwon do class yesterday. He didn't call or email or anything. I hope he didn't get into an accident.

The green belts took over the class instead. We practiced forms and kicks. One of the little kids wasn't obeying them so they made her do push ups. After 3 measly push ups she started to cry, claiming she couldn't breathe. For someone who couldn't breathe, she sure could cry a lot. (Kids these days!)

After class, ben and I went to a summer party held by one of my coworkers. However, no one was there! They had all skipped out to go volunteer at a live earth events! That's what I get for working with a bunch of dirty tree hugging hippies. :P

We only stayed for a few awkward hours. Then we went to a summer party held by one of ben's coworkers. That party was much better. There were smores and video games. And during the firework show, they shot a firework at their neighbor's house.

We have to leave early though because I had a conference today. A conference I almost didn't make it to. I got very very lost trying to find the hotel. I was very late.

So then I sat through about 6 hours of 2 guys reading powerpoint slides. It was extremely boring. The only good point of the conference was the free lunch.

After the conference, I did a little shopping. I found a store that sold japanese things and considered buying a cute coffee mug. But I am saving money so I put it back. Then I stopped at the human rights campaign store which was having a moving sale. I thought I might find something that laura would like, but they didn't have anything nice in her size.

I was extremely tired when I got home. Ben was cleaning at the time so I ordered chinese food. Now we are watching doctor who. I wish martha didn't pine for the doctor because then she'd be a pretty good companion.
Yesterday was a loooong day. Ben and I didn't finished getting ready and packing until noon. Then we said our goodbyes to the parental units and were on our way. We didn't hit traffic until the verrazzano bridge. It was because some guys got into an accident and everyone had to look.

Then traffic for the nj turnpike (merging), delaware TWICE (bridge and tolls), and maryland 3 times (signs). There was probably more, but those are the big ones I remember. The maryland ones made me crazy because everyone was slowing down to read SIGNS. Identical signs! After you've read the first one, there's no need to slow down again! Gah, and it wasn't too hard either. "Road closed for funeral. Use these other roads. Redskins, use this road. N va, use this road." Stupid drivers.

Aside from the stupid drivers, being home is wonderful. Now I can finally have a few days of vacation.

The bird was VERY happy to see me. At one point when I put her back in her cage, she flew back to me! She must have been lonely all week. Also, she doesn't appear to have preened at all while I was gone. While she was sitting on my lap last night, she was furiously cleaning her feathers to make up for a week's worth of neglect. And a week's worth of old feathers ended up piled on my lap (and then piled up on my dog).

Nothing is better than sleeping in my own bed. I finally got a good night's sleep last night. And woke up to a cute boy and a cute dog. It made me very happy.

After being lazy for a bit, ben and I eventually got up to set up the ps2 in the bedroom. Then we played guitar hero for a bit. It's fun! I wonder how someone who actually knows how to play the guitar would think of it.

Ben is now playing ffxii. I'm trying not to watch too much so I can enjoy it when I play it. While avoiding watching, I fell asleep and had a nightmare. I dreamed there was a dark green ooze that was eating anything living that it touched. Ben and I were locked in a house with a group of other people, all trying to avoid the goo. Sometimes it would find cracks to sneak into though, so we had to be alert. Oh, and we had these weird space weasels in the house that ate the goo if they could find it. I was sitting on a couch, trying to get noname to come on the couch with me where I felt she would be safe. Then she finds a ball of the goo and I start panicking cause it might touch her. I kept calling her to ignore the goo, but she was ignoring me. Finally I yelled at her mean enough that she started to come over, but then this emergency door opened up (to get rid of the goo she was playing with) and she fell down into the hole.

I started to scream but ben says in real life I was only making sad, "aah! aah!" noises. For a while after that I had a hard time telling what was real and what was fake. I've been making noname stay close to me though, just in case.

Oh wow, and it's new year's eve. I have nothing exciting planned at all. I'm such a boring person. :P
