According to my gardening spreadsheet, I'm supposed to plant peas outside this weekend. But there's supposed to be an ice storm either tomorrow or monday so I think I'll wait.
This year I'm going to try growing a few plants that like the shade more than direct sun. I don't really get enough sun behind my apartment. :(
I ordered basil, parsley, and spinach because greens are supposed to like shade. I'll still try peas, tomatoes, and peppers, but at least I'll have some sort of backup plants for when they fail. Plus those are the 3 plants that I tend to wish I had fresh on hand anyway.
So I have it figured out that I'll plant 1 tomato and 1 pepper plant in the big pot, peas in a little pot, spinach in the other little pot, and basil and parsley in the metal tub.
Though if I end up getting myself one more little pot, it will be 1 tomato and 1 pepper in the big pot, peas in a little pot, basil in another little pot, parsley in the new little pot, and spinach in the metal tub.
I think the second option is best, but buying a new pot also means buying a ton of new dirt too. Bah.
What I really need is my own yard. One day when I have a yard, there will be no lawn. It will just be tons of gardens. So I will never need a lawn mower! :) Bwahaha.
