I took a long bath last night and finished reading monstrous regiment. The book was interesting enough, but I thought the ending was far too predictable.
When I got out of the bath, the water was blue. That distresses me a bit. It was a very pretty shade of blue though.
Ben didn't call me until really late again. While I waited, I tried reading Anansi Boys again. This bok makes me so sad because I hate it. I've loved everything else neil gaiman has done, but I just cannot get through anasi boys. The characters annoy me so much that I want to scream and throw the book across the room. But instead I just slam it shut and glare at it.
Eventually ben called and I talked to him until after midnight. I really miss him. It makes me happy to hear his voice. I wish this week was over so he could come home.
Of course, he'll probably have to deal with that stupid red terror alert. So bush's buddy lieberman lost the democratic primary because he was for the war in iraq. Surprise surprise, today the government uncovers some gigantic terrorist plot to blow up the US and the UK. Good thing lieberman announced he was running as an independent, right? ;)
One of the rules for the red alert thing is that you can't bring any liquids on flights. I want to know how they are going to explain to some mother traveling with her baby that no, she cannot bring her kid's formula on the plane. I'm sure the other passengers will love that too, with the hungry kid screaming the whole time.
So anyway, hello red alert. Hello police state. Let's all be good citizens for the motherland now and all that stuff, yes? Isn't it great how we have that convenient sept 11 movie in theaters to stir up patriotism again? After all, can't let it die or americans might stop being afraid and might take back their country.
Oh, I should get dressed!
