Our California Vacation (Part 3)
Nov. 12th, 2006 10:10 pmPart 1 and Part 2
San Jose
We spent the next day with Ben's sister. The first stop, I believe, was the ebay/paypal building where she worked. (Yes, the same one that had that explosion about a week ago.)
( Ebay )
Then she took us to an electronics store called Fry's. This chain decorates each of their stores with a different theme. The San Jose theme was an Aztec pyramid.
( Fry's Electronics )
After that we had lunch in San Jose's Japantown before making our way to the Tech Museum. I had SO much fun at the Tech Museum. It was one of those hands-on science museums. I got to build a roller coaster, make glow in the dark bacteria, walk around in drunk glasses, and all sorts of cool stuff like that! Definitely one of the best parts of the trip.
( Tech Museum )
I really wish I had has more time at the Tech Museum. I felt kinda rushed to get through everything and skipped some of the things I wanted to do because I couldn't afford to waste time waiting. Oh well, guess it's an excuse to come back one day.
Chinatown
The next day Ben's sister had a class so she dropped us off in San Francisco to entertain ourselves. We first stopped at the sony store to look at various playstation games. Then we walked down to Chinatown.
( Chinatown Gate )
Turns out that Chinatown was have an Autumn Moon festival that day so it was REALLY crowded. It was stressing me out. There was barely room to breathe. Needless to say we didn't get to see much.
After a short amount of time we wanted to get out of there. We quickly taught ourselves how to use the bus system and met Ben's sister down by her class.
The next day we were on our way home. The trip went far too fast! I really liked California. The people there were so much nicer than they are here, and everything was so pretty.
