Today is going reasonably well. I'm a bit afraid I might jinx it.

I had a ton of time to get ready this morning because my dog DID NOT pee the floor last night. Although I didn't take her for a pre-bed walk (Walking around in 30 degree weather with wet hair seemed like a bad idea), I did remember to take her water away and to lay out wee wee pads in all her usual spots.

I felt a little bad when I gave her back her water cause she gulped half the bowl. But I figure she'll get used to it soon. She had water all the way up until bedtime so I doubt she's really dehydrating.

Anyway, with my extra time I had a delicious homemade waffle for breakfast. I feel clever about my waffles because there is a waffle shortage right now. I made a big batch over the weekend and froze the leftovers. They toast up just like the store-bought kind!

Then I went out for the bus and it was on time. Not too early or too late! It was nice to not miss the bus. Also nice to not be frozen solid when the bus got there.

When I got to the train station, I was just in time to catch an 8-car train! I even got a seat! That was nice too.

And then I got to work ON TIME. Normally I am 15-30 minutes late. But there were no delays at all this morning. I was so early, the door was still locked and I had to find my key card to get in.

No one was around to notice how early I was, but that's ok. The reason no one is here is because they are all out at the DMA conference. It'll be nice and quiet today. No distractions! I can actually get stuff done! :)

I hope today continues to be good. I've had enough bad days lately.
Yesterday? Kinda lame. I spent 5 hours with a bunch of other coordinators in the office de-duping records. By the end of the day, I felt like my eyes were going to bleed. And we didn't even get through half of them! It was terrible.

Today was significantly better.

Despite the rain, I went apple picking with Allicia and her fiance Rich. It was a lot of fun! And the rain actually stopped right as we started picking and didn't start again until we got back.

We went to Stribling Orchard. It wasn't my first choice but ended up being really nice. Allicia was late, so I drank a cup of warm apple cider while sitting in front of a big fire. Not a bad way to kill the time.

We got there pretty late in the season, so most of the low hanging fruits were gone. But that was ok, because they gave us this tall arm tool to grab the apples at the top of the trees!

Allicia Picking Apples

It worked pretty well except when you'd accidentally knock another apple off the tree and down onto your head.

I ended up buying way more apples than one human could possible eat. Plus I got little apple pies (apple sticks!), apple cider, and local honey. I had to flee the store before I ended up buying more.

Apples

At least I mostly picked tiny two-bite apples, so those I can snack on each day. They are perfect for when you are just a teeny bit hungry, but not hungry enough to make something.

After the orchard, we went to Naked Mountain Vineyard for wine tasting and cheese. I am too much of a lightweight for such things and don't like wine anyway, so I just took part in the cheese.

The cheese was Amish, I think.

The vineyard was full of these huge creepy looking beetles. None of them bothered me directly, but they were still pretty freaky.

Home now and happy to be warm and dry. I might warm up one of the little apple pies, pour myself a glass of cider, and get some quality cartoon watching time in before ben wake up from his nap.
Today has been pleasantly successful.

I slept late and then played with my dog in bed before getting up.

Ben and I exchanged solstice gifts since we won't be together for christmas. He got me several psp games. Jeanne D'arc cause I like strategy games, pa rappa the rapper cause I like rhythm games, and lumines ii cause I like puzzle games. I got ben a bunch of computer games.

After that, ben and I went out to finish our holiday shopping. I was pleasantly surprised by the small crowds. Bad for retailers, good for me. To celebrate our successful shopping, we bought bubble tea before heading home. Oddly enough, the bubble tea place had a huge line.

Ben played video games while I wrapped gifts. Some gifts have yet to arrive, despite ordering early. That is distressing, but I am not going to let it ruin my good mood. Those people will just have to wait a little longer. No big deal.

I think tv now and then games in a bit.

Also, arctic foxes are the cutest animals ever.
Today has been a fantastically good day. It's been so good, I'm actually starting to worry. :P

First of all, I had a good night's sleep with plenty of good dreams. Then I got to sleep late and enjoy a lazy morning in bed. I think I scared ben a bit with my huge happy grin when he woke up.

Once we were eventually up and dressed, ben and I went looking at apartments. Ben drove the whole time! Go him!

The first one we went to was closed so it was a good thing I had looked up a second place for us to look at. The second place no longer rents to people with dogs so that was out, but the lady in the office suggested another place nearby to look at. We went there and was given a tour of an apartment. It's a bit more than we want to pay and much smaller than what we currently have though. Pooo.

On the way home we stopped at the apartment complex across the street from our current place. Unfortunately they were closed too.

So after all that we decided we deserved a reward for our hard work. We went down to herndon for smoothies and chipotle lunch. Ben slightly messed up my burrito (he got me a chicken fajita rather than a veggie burrito) but it's not a big deal. I can pick the worst stuff out.

Now ben is playing one of the games he bought last night and my dog is sleeping in a very cute way on the couch.
Today has been a good day. I keep remarking to ben about how unusually happy I am today.

It started with a late morning, waking up in my boyfriend's arms. Then taking my dog for a nice walk in beautiful weather. Ben started to pack for his trip tomorrow after that and I kept him company.

A bit after noon we went shopping. I got 4 new shirts and a handful of books. Ben got a pair of shorts, some books, new headphones, and a new video game. Oh, and we split a tasty taro bubble tea. When our shopping was through, we went to panera for panini. That was tasty too.

Ben is playing his new game now. He says it's really cool. I think I'm going to read the doggy cookbook I got for my dog. It came with cute biscuit cookie cutters!
