Last night was disney's premier of World of Color. It's a new nighttime show at one of their california parks. I thought it was neat that they live streamed the whole thing.I do not think that pacific time is very neat though. I'm tired!

They debuted the talking mickey for this show! It's the usual guy in a mickey mouse suit, but now his mouth can move! (His eyes blink too, but they've been doing that for years.) I thought it was pretty neat.

They got one of the Sherman Bros to write the main theme, so now it's stuck in my head. Those guys are professional ear worm creators.

I thought the show was neat. I'd still like to see it in person. The camera kept flittering around all over and I kept missing things.

I felt like there were too many pixar clips, but I guess it makes sense to include them since they are the only ones making money these days. I was happy that little mermaid got a long clip right at the beginning. :)

The best clip was Genie singing Friend Like Me. I thought they made good use of all the technology in that scene. Genie would go *poof* and appear on another water screen on the other side and I actually gasped! I felt a little silly but they did make it look very good.

My favorite part was the clip where Dory was speaking whale. But it's not my favorite because of the clip. It's because I turned to ben and asked, "Can you speak whale?" and he went, "Noooooooooo." I am laughing again thinking about it. Coworkers must think I am plotting evil...
Yay little mermaid!!!!

Yesterday we drove into the city. First we stopped at my great aunt's place in brooklyn for dinner. She was very upset because both her favorite and second favorite polish restaurants were closed. She had to take us to her third favorite. :P

After that, we went to manhattan. We had a while until our show, so we walked around and looked at all the crowded stores. Dad wanted to see the displays in the good morning america windows so we did that too.

It was still too early for the theater to let us in but we had to potty so we made a visit to the charmin bathroom. They clean the toilets after every use, so it's worth the wait.

This year they also had an upstairs room full of phone chargers! How smart! They also had bicycles there with a sign saying that the energy created by them was being stored up to help charge the ball on new year's eve. I'm not sure if that's really true, but I rode the bikes a little anyway.

By then it was almost time for the show doors to open so we made our way to the theater. We didn't have to wait long after that at all to get inside and get our seats.

I very much liked the show. Yay Little Mermaid!

The girl who played ariel was very good. Sebastian was better towards the end when he was being more serious. Triton was too NICE! It was hard to take him seriously when he couldn't do a proper kingly bellow. Ursula was played by the understudy that night. She was waaaay too pretty and her voice was too sweet to be an evil sea witch. She'd make a much better ariel understudy.

The costumes were really really neat! I wish I could have costumes like that! And to simulate swimming through the water, the actors wheeled around on heelys. So cool!

I didn't like most of the new songs they added. A few were good, but most didn't really fit in well with the original songs. The originals for the most part had a melody that followed through in each one. The new ones didn't have that. Also, what was the deal with stealing "Be Our Guest" for this show? How weird!

I liked how well they made the watery scenes look watery. It was all very neat.

I don't think my family liked the show as much as I did, but if they didn't then that's their loss. I had a lot of fun. And I am re-motivated to get good on my heelys again so I can pretend to be a mermaid.

While leaving the theater, there was a fight! Crazy! Ushers had to rush over to break it up. How could someone be so angry as to start a fight after seeing a good show? They should be happy!

After the show, we went out for a midnight snack and then drove home. I fell asleep on the ride. And barely stayed awake long enough to make it t my bed.

Tonight I am going to see laura, but first I need to go shopping and grab the final element to her gift. I've been waiting for my hair to dry, but I might just go out with a hat on. My hair takes far too long when I have important things to do.
I hate waiting!

We're not leaving until 1. And then we are going to see my great aunt and have an early dinner with her before going into manhattan. Little Mermaid is so far away.......

I am tempted to nap. Napping is like time travel. Close my eyes and WHOOSH! It's the future!
Apples to Apples was played this evening. The entire family which I think is a first since I was in grade school.

Aside from one mean-spirited bizarro world comment from my mom (something about lincoln being a stupid person for freeing the slaves), it was relatively pleasant. My family quickly caught on to how the game is played.

We played 4 games until my mom finally won. Then she let us all go to bed. I bet we would have been up until midnight if she didn't win eventually.

Tomorrow is THE LITTLE MERMAID and I might be a little bit excited. I wish I had at least brought my little mermaid purse home with me. I'm going to sing along with EVERY song.
Today was a nightmare day at work. Stuff that was supposed to be done yesterday was not, so I was rushing around like a crazy person trying to meet deadlines. I was so stressed, I started getting aggressive.

I flew into the director's office like a demon at one point and told her I was approving a bunch of stuff she was ignoring and that she was to take responsibility for it. Her inability to meet a deadline makes me crazy. Then I called up the incompetent art company and forced them to change a deadline to something I could more reasonably reach. I pointed out the deadline was missed because they gave us the art late to begin with, so I would hold them responsible for any rush charges that would occur.

Somehow I made it through the day and got everything done on time. It was like magic. I even left early. But I must have really exhausted myself because I fell asleep on the train. Nearly missed my stop.

When I got home, I ate dinner and then played with my pets for a bit. My bird was very cuddly tonight but her projectile poops scared me so I had to put her back in her cage. Noname was also very playful, which made me happy. I'm glad she's feeling better.

Once ben started to play video games and throw things around, noname and I went to the bedroom to watch the little mermaid. We finished watching it with the commentary that I had started yesterday, and then watched it over again in normal mode.

Ben came in about 5 minutes from the end and made fun of it. He's mean sometimes.

I think it's so wonderfully disney that the most powerful force in the universe is not love. It's a legal, binding contract. They had to work around the contract by killing the contract holder instead.

I think I'd like to go to bed now. My dog has already fallen asleep. Ben will probably be a big meanie and stay up all night like he usually does.
The Little Mermaid on Broadway.

I MUST see it!
Last night I started to get really sleepy, but ben wasn't ready for bed yet. He told me to go to bed ahead of him, but I didn't want to leave his side. Instead I tried to fall asleep on the couch. Ben decided the couch was a bad uncomfortable place to sleep and carried me to bed.

I must have been pretty tired. I fell asleep right away.

I had two dreams last night. In one, disney made a waterpark specifically for their water-centered films. So there was a pirates ride and a little mermaid ride and stuff like that, all of them with slides and water and stuff like that. Somehow I got a nosebleed on the little mermaid ride. Ben, who was a doctor complete with lab coat, told me that he knew a secret to stop nosebleeds. Very few people know that your nose is connected to your hip and if you have someone kiss your hip your nose will stop bleeding. So he gave me a quick hip kiss and my nose instantly stopped the blood gush.

In my second dream, bush and the neocons had won and there were strict morality laws all throughout the country. Because of that, I wasn't allowed to live with ben anymore. I had to get written permission from my parents to even live by myself. And we had to be supervised on every date to make sure we didn't do anything naughty like hug or kiss. Our bodies had to be at least 6 inches away from the other at all times. It was a really bad dream.

I felt better when I woke up this morning and ben was still there. I'd be really sad if he had to go away.

Of course my happiness was shattered two seconds later when my dog, realizing I was now awake, jumped at me with her boney limbs and tiny sharp claws. She does that to me every morning. I really wish she wasn't such a morning person. Morning dog. Whatever.
