First day of spring, wtf?

Thunder and lightning started to roll in as I was getting ready this morning. I peeked out the window and noted it hadn't started to rain just yet, so I called my dog and we went out in hopes of letting her do her business before the storm reached us.

As I was waiting, I heard a rumble approaching from the distance. It grew louder and louder. I thought to myself, "Wow, that's some really heavy rain!"

And then it hit me. Hard. Repeatedly.

It wasn't rain at all! It was hail! Gumball-sized balls of ice!

My dog and I raced back indoors before the painful ice balls could deal too much damage to our bodies.

At least an inch of hail accumulated outside my door before it transitioned over to rain. Very strange weather. What a way to start spring!

Snow. Additional snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches. Brisk with lows in the mid 20s. North winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of snow 90 percent.

Ugh...Pain. I wish the soreness from tae kwon do didn't last so long. Yesterday's class was particularly harsh. We did a lot of punches and kicks (getting punched and kicked in the process). I hate pain. :( I want to learn just enough to defend myself somewhat competently and then I'm done with this.

It's nice out today but I have nowhere to go to enjoy it. I guess I'll just stay home and sew. Technically I could go to the farm today and pick asparagus, but it's so far away. It seems to me the wasted gas negates any goodness that would come from fresh organic asparagus.

I was gardening earlier in the morning and I noticed that some sort of small rodent ravished my peas! They're all fallen over and broken! And some of their roots were torn up too! Grrrr. My chicken wire was no use at all. I did my best to try to save the peas but it looks like only one or two may survive. :(

There is ice falling from the sky. :(

50 States in 10 minutes. I missed 3. Ben missed 5. But together we got all 50 states.

Today there's this neat fog hanging just over the ground. I guess it's because the air warmed up so suddenly while the ground is still so cold.

I'm really glad it's friday. I have mighty weekend plans. With the weather warming up, I feel more motivated to go out and do stuff. Winter made me far too lazy.

Must go pay attention to the bird now who is making "Play with me!!!!!" motions.

It's 74 degrees outside. The air conditioning is on, set to 72. If it's hot in here, wouldn't it make sense to just open a window? It would save energy! And cool breezes smell good! And I wouldn't have to sit with this ac blowing on me! *shiver*

Three days in a row of nice weather! It's finally starting to feel like spring! The grass is starting to grow, those little spring flowers are starting to sprout, and the gophers have woken up from their hibernation.

I hope it stays like this. I'm not sure I could handle another blast of winter.

Not much at work. But it's friday so that's good. I can't wait to go home. I want to be on weekend forever.

Here's a trip down memory lane. The Utena Slut Chart. j_buns and I made it one day at work when we were very VERY bored. I used it today to explain relationships in the show.

The weather is warming up, which helps my mood a lot. I really hate walking around and seeing nothing but death. Things are coming back to life and the air is starting to smell good again.

That reminds me. I want to look up the flowers I used to love in New Orleans. They'd be on, I guess bushes or vines or something, since I always saw them climbing over the edges of fences. Little white flowers that smelled really good. I should learn what they are. Before I forget again.
