Think about the last time you went to buy a new car. You probably thought about what you wanted: safety for your family, low operating costs, lots of room for the kids, etc. It's not too hard to translate these benefits into features: airbags, good gas mileage, an extra-large trunk, etc. --Guerrilla Marketing Handbook

If I ever had kids, I would definitely store them in the trunk.
Haha! Chagrin written with no mention of lumberjacks! Go me!

Now I just need to let it sit for a bit so I can edit it afterwards.

For now, I read.

On using a homepage as a window display: Can you use your window to put on a live demonstration? To educate passersby? Can you bolster its effectiveness by introducing a unique feature, such as kittens? --Guerrilla Marketing For Free

Shop online at amazon.com....NOW WITH KITTENS!!!
On party-plan marketing: Here are the types of companies that do already: exercise-machine companies, art galleries, kitchen-equipment companies (such as Tupperware), women's clothing manufacturers, vitamin manufacturers, x-rated product companies (the burgeoning "pleasure" industry), cosmetics manufacturers, computer companies, and lingerie manufacturers.

I personally never knew there were parties where people tried out vibrators or fancy panties. Would it be held the same way a tupperware party is held?

I now have this horrible image of these 40 year old women getting together for a party like this and discussing how well made the products are and how you just HAVE to bring one (or several) home! They make great gifts!
Once again I am reading this Guerrilla Marketing book. It is so outdated and confused that it makes me weep. It actually suggests you hand out screensavers to customers if you are a computer consultant. Perhaps they meant let them download it, like lots of movie sites do, but in the sentence it implies that screensavers are a tangible object to put in someone's bag.

"If you are a computer consultant, handing out keychains makes no sense whatsoever. But handing out small guides to softwares makes a lot of sense. So do mousepads and screensavers."

Poor wording I think. :P

Got to love a book written in 1998. It also talks about the amazing potential of the internet. And suggests that perhaps in the near future, most direct mail will be done over the internet. Wow! Can you believe such a crazy thing?
