Yesterday was a good day. Ben took me out shopping. First we went to costco where a jug of jelly beans was purchased. Then the mall where ben bribed me with bubble tea to get me to buy work clothes. After that we went to super h and bought hi-chew and ramune. It was a very successful afternoon.

In the evening we watched tv and played video games. I finally got to see the second pretty cure movie which was terrible as expected. Ben seemed delighted by my anger. :P

Unfortunately I stayed up too late so I was really cranky this morning. Also I had bad nightmares about being alone. I really didn't want to get out of bed this morning. I nearly missed the bus!

Work was insanely busy this morning. I didn't have time for lunch until 1:30. I was STARVING! And then people kept talking to me. But all I wanted to do was shovel food in my face. :P

After lunch I picked up my thermos with my "secret" word on it. Now I need to find who else in the building has words that compliment "horseshoes." I suspect I'm looking for summer backyard games or something. Either that or the person picking these words was running low on footwear ideas.

The thermos is kinda neat though. I'd been actually thinking of buying a metal thermos. (I read about plastic bottles leaking chemicals into the water and got a little concerned.) And I found out they are also going to give us a blanket, umbrella, keychain, t-shirt, toys, and a few other things. I will be all logo'd up after this retreat.
I woke up this morning in a sad pouty mood. I wish ben and I could have skipped work and stayed home together for the day. Being an adult is boring.

I'm feeling a little better now though, thanks to the tmbg clock radio. It's been playing all my favorite songs all day. That pleases me. And with no one here but me, I can sing along.

Also, I have a new icon. A host club icon. And I have hi-chew. Strawberry hi-chew. :)
Ben and I went to the asian grocery this afternoon. I bought vast amounts of hi-chew. Though, truthfully, I went there looking for interesting ramen. Problem is I hate fish. It was pretty tough to find instant noodles that did not have a fish broth. And to make it worse, of the few that were left, most were pork broth. In the end, I managed to find some mushroom ramen that seemed interesting enough. Hopefully it will taste good.

When I got home, I made peach crumble with the peaches I bought yesterday. They were so perfectly ripe. I haven't tried the crumble yet, but after trying those peaches I know it'll taste good.
Ok, pictures finally uploaded. Yay! I even took a few more to fill out the post.

First off, my mighty pile of pink food. So very pink! )I'm very proud of the levels of pinkness I was able to achieve. The only food that is not strawberry here is the juice in a pouch, which is peach.

And here is our first haul from our farm! Leaves ) Yeah, it's just a bunch of leaves. :P Also buried in there are some radishes, broccoli, and pac choi.

We tried to make a salad out of the leaves. That was a bad idea. So tonight we made sorrel soup out of the sorrel leaves. It was certainly better than the raw sorrel, but it still wasn't too tasty. Ben liked it though, so I guess that's good. The soup. ) How does THAT look! Like a pot of vomit? Yup. :P

While the soup was boiling, I tied up our fresh oregano for drying. I wonder how long it takes to dry. My pretty herbs all lined up ) I hope they dry soon. I want to make pizza with them. If they don't dry in time, I'll just use them fresh and hope it still all works out.
Oh my god I love Hi-Chew. *heaven*

I wonder if the morinaga factory gives tours... If they don't, I wonder if they'd make an exception for me because I am their biggest fan.
I got to go home early yesterday. Wheeee! I very much needed that extra rest.

Yesterday was the first day of our CSA farm pickup thingie. Lots of green leaves. And some radishes. :P Vile nasty stuff. But we were given fancy new bags to carry things in. Plus broccoli and oregano. So I guess that makes up for the sorrel and mustard greens.

Ben and I tried eating the leaves in a salad. It was so bad I had to spit it out. I'm used to normal lettuce, not this stuff! The flavors were all weird and strong. I think I'm going to try to saute them tonight.

I took a picture of our new bag full of leaves but forgot to upload the picture this morning. Dumb.

After we picked up our veggies, we went shopping. Ben picked up some computer thing at compusa near the mall. While we were in the area, we also went to super-h. (A HUGE asian supermarket!) We got lost on the way there and virginia drivers are full of evil, but once I started finding tasty things to eat I was calm again. I bought hi-chew, pocky, daifuku, juice in a pouch, strawberry milk candies, yan yan, ufo in a bowl, gyoza, and red bean buns. I am proud of myself for not buying the korean cookies just for the inu yasha pogs inside.

I didn't like the buns at all and am sad I have so many of them now. They take up freezer space! I need to either learn to like them or find someone else to take them.

I took a picture of all my junk food because I managed to buy almost everything strawberry. The only thing that wasn't was the peach juice, but it's pink so you wouldn't know it's not strawberry. I need to upload that picture too.

Work today is going to be slow. I did all the priority stuff earlier in the week. But at least it's friday. And then I have the whole weekend to relax, finish tara's skirt, and clean the bathroom (mold!).

Yes! Bwahaha! *consumes hi-chew goodness*
Ben and I went exploring today. We sought out Super H, a large Asian grocery we had heard about.

It was HUGE! I have been in larger grocery stores, but never one dedicated to strictly ethnic foods. I was especially impressed by the size of the produce section. I bought myself a very large pomegranate. We also got ourselves a whole bunch of junk food, including hi-chew (*bliss*), daifuku, and ramune. However, I did not see any melty kiss, which would have been a fantastic Christmas gift for certain people.

After that, we stopped at an 80% off book store and learned where books go when they can't even be sold at discount. The manager looked so happy to have people in his store. I sorta feel bad for not buying something.

Then we stopped at borders, where ben did not find the book he was looking for. Sadness.

Our trip then brought us to the mall, where we did not buy a ps2. We did get bubble tea though. And gloves.

At best buy, we bought a ps2. As well as We Love Katamari, DDR Extreme, and Shadow of the Colossus. Because ben loves me! :) I am spoiled.

It was raining by then, so we went home. I'd like some dinner now, but I'm pretty tired from today. I wish I could train my dog to cook for me.
