I have shiny new glasses. And it only took about 3 hours to get them!

I needed my eyes checked because it had been 4 years and I KNEW my eyes were worse. So I waited an hour for an exam where the doctor told me that yes, my eyes are awful. With my new prescription I went to the glasses place and picked out some frames. Ben was a big help there.

My new frames are a bit smaller than my old ones and a bit more ovalier. I picked the most expensive lense type. :P I had to get the super thin kind anyway since my lenses would be too thick otherwise, and the most expensive type with the UV stuff and the scratch resistance and all that.

Then we had to wait an hour for the lenses to be made. We killed time with snacks and video games and bubble tea. There is a new bubble tea place in the mall. Still uses powder though. I was so spoiled by frosty's. I miss real fruit. But it wasn't awful, just average.

After an hour my glasses were done and I could see again. Yay! My vision is so insanely clear now. I'm amazed and frightened by what I couldn't see before. Maybe I should have gotten sunglasses too....But I was thinking it might be better to get those little things that wrap around your frames. They'd be smaller and if I broke or lose them I wouldn't cry.

And everyone was right about AAA. I thought it would be a few dollars off, but I saved over $150! At this point with the car breaking and the new glasses, my AAA card has paid for itself about 5 years into the future. Insane!

Ben got his eyes checked but they didn't change much so he didn't get new glasses. He was sweet for going with me though. Especially on his day off. We got home so late, and he still made dinner without a complaint. He spoils me!
Ben and I decided to get out of the house this afternoon. A wise decision since I was going a bit stir-crazy.

We sorta got lost for a while and ended up in a very old part of fairfax. But after turning around we found the borders we were looking for and bought books. I got a book on knitting clothes for dogs. :)

Then we went to the mall. While looking for parking, this car with a crushed up front (like, completely crushed, not sure how it could still move crushed) came right at us. So now we now how the car got that way in the first place. It was pretty scary.

The mall wasn't that exciting and we didn't buy anything. We laughed at victoria's secret because all it sold was pajamas. Nothing fancy at all. I got bubble tea that was too sweet. And ben got a fish burger that he seemed to enjoy quite a bit. We went to a video game store, but it was so hot in there I thought I'd pass out. So I had to sit outside the store and cool down.

Not sure what I'll do with the rest of the evening. I guess work on the various projects I've got. Finish billy's gift, start ben's sister's pillow, finish princess claire, start my spring yukata, start iron mouse.... So much to do!
I had a bad day.

It didn't start out bad. In fact, it started out really pleasant. I got to sleep late, eat a good breakfast, and generally be happy. Then I went to walk my dog.

I thought I'd be nice and take her out to this creek near the apartment so she could chase squirrels. Noname was really happy and I felt like a good person for making my dog so happy. But then noname chased a squirrel up a hill and wouldn't come back down. Not only that, but she decided to run off, away from where I was standing. So I had to climb the stupid hill to find her. With leave and twigs and me only wearing sandels, it was not fun.

Finally I found her. Before bringing her into the apartment, I had to get some papers out of my car. The car which developed a flat tire overnight.

Ben and I spent over an hour trying to change that tire. The problem was, we couldn't get to anyplace that had a flat level surface. So every time we jacked the car up, the jack would start to tilt and then fall over. This, of course, caused the entire car the fall down. We finally got so frustrated that we called AAA. They sent a guy with a super jack of doom to fix my tire. It took him all of 5 minutes.

Today we planned on going to the DMV. So, after all that stress we headed out to the one in the mall. I was freaking out though, because the spare tire was making awful squeaking noises. I even made ben get out of the car to look at it.

We did manage to get to the mall, with only one wrong turn. We even managed to get to the dmv with only one return trip to the car. Then, as I got to the information desk the woman asked me if I had the title of the car...

I had my ss card. I had my birth certificate. I had proof that I lived in virginia. I had photo id. I FORGOT the title to the car.

I was so angry and tired and defeated. I think I would have started sobbing right there in the mall if ben had not been there to comfort me.

We spent the rest of the day wandering around the mall looking at stores until we got hungry. Then ben took me to a far too expensive all-you-can-eat restaurant that served vast amounts of sushi. There was little I could actually eat there, but they had the most fantastic desserts. I wish I hadn't filled up on rice beforehand because those desserts were amazing. I especially liked the one called Strawberry Delight. It was soooooo good. (But stay away from the tofu cheesecake. That was nasty.)

I was feeling a bit better by then, though still frustrated. We got home without getting lost though, so that's good. Now I'm going to stay home and play with sculpey and make an ultimate playlist for my archos now that I've uploaded more music to it.
